BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN PSYCHOLOGY

Program Description

The curriculum for the BS Psychology program is the study and application of the theories and methods, principles, concepts and skills necessary for effective training, practice and research on the major areas of Psychology.

The program provides undergraduate students with a solid foundation on the major areas of Psychology preparatory to future careers, and further studies and training in particular specializations of Psychology or other professions such as education, law, business management and medicine. The program  is also complete in terms of pre-medical training, making it a pre-medicine course.

Said BS Psychology program consist of:

The specified body of knowledge, skill, attitudes, values, and experiences shall include the following:

  • A general education component consistent with CHED Memorandum Orders aimed at developing broadly educated, cultured, morally, upright and productive persons.
  • A professional studies component to include:

-Philosophy and aims of bachelor of Science in Psychology

-The systematic study of Psychology principles and theories with immediate appropriate observation and experiences to provide students with first-hand knowledge in the appreciation and interpretation of these theories: and

-Direct substancial participation in psychological practices of qualified professionals from the field of Psychology and professional institution.

 

The program puts emphasis on a professional study that is long and intensive enough to permit students to gain the professional knowledge required for professional competence and religious education for the holistic formation of the students to become socially responsible and morally upright imbued with Augustinian Recollect values.
